EDGAR M. CHANEY IS BURIED AT WINTERSET

Long-Time Resident of South Dakota Died Recently at Kansas City

The body of Edgar M. Chaney of Kansas City, Mo., whose death had occurred there recently, was brought to Winterset last week for funeral services and burial.

Mr. Chaney was a native of Illinois, where he was born near Clay City on May 27, 1878. As a young man he came to Des Moines where he started in the wholesale fruit and vegetable business, an occupation he followed through his active life.

In 1904 he was married to Bessie E. Greer of Omaha. They started housekeeping at Mitchell, S. Dak., living in that state 29 years before moving to Illinois, where they spent 12 years. Their home had been in Kansas City for the last year.

He is survived by his wife; a son; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
