MRS. ORVAL LEGGETT OF TRURO DIES, AGED 47

Funeral Services Held Day After Christmas at Truro

Mrs. Orval Leggett, life-long resident of the Truro community, died at her home there Dec. 23. She was 47 years of age.

Mrs. Leggett was the former Violet Pearl Delong, daughter of H. F. and Elizabeth Delong. She was born near Truro April 1, 1902. With the exception of two years in Des Moines, her life was spent at Truro.

She was married July 4, 1922, to Orval Leggett. They were the parents of five children, one of whom died in infancy.

She attended the Truro high school and Des Moines university, and taught school several years before her marriage.

She leaves her husband; four children, Mrs. Wanda Harrell of Des Moines, Doyle Leggett of the U. S. navy, Dale Leggett of Truro and Ronald Leggett at home, she also leaves three grandchildren; four sisters, Rose Delong and Mrs. Olive Draper of Truro, Mrs. Ivy Bierma of Nevada and Mrs. Mary Bierma of Indianola.

Funeral services were held Dec. 26 from the Kale Funeral home and burial was made in the Hartman cemetery.
