MRS. PEARL HARRIS OF EARLHAM DIES

(Earlham Special)

Mrs. Pearl Harris passed away Dec. 22 at the age of 70 years. She was the daughter of Stephen and Ellen Thompson and was born at Secor, Ill., where she lived up until the time of her marriage to Lee Harris, when they moved to the Earlham community where she remained up to the time of her passing.

She leaves her husband, three sons, Dale of Beloit, Wis., Vern of Earlham and Wayne of Casey, Ill., and one daughter, Ellen of Omaha, Neb., and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Presbyterian church with the Rev. S. R. Overholser in charge. Interment was made in the Earlham cemetery.

Pearl Lilly Thompson, the daughter of Stephen and Ellen Thompson was born at Secor, Illinois November 5, 1879, and departed this life December 22, 1949 at the age of 70 years, one month and 17 days.

She spent the early part of her life in and around the place of her birth, where on February 2, 1902 she was united in marriage to Lee C. Harris. In September of that year they moved to the Earlham community which was her home until her passing.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, three sons, Dale of Beloit, Wisconsin; Vern of Earlham; Wayne of Casey, Illinois; and one daughter, Ellen of Omaha, Nebraska. Also survive five grandchildren, Mary Ellen, Russell, Jerry, Michael and Eugene, children of Wayne, and other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Harris took great pride in her home and gave of time and substance that they might have the joys and comforts of a happy home life. She was ever ready to help those in need as long as she was able.

She was a member of Marguerite Rebekah Lodge No. 233 of Earlham. She took an active part in this organization as long as health permitted. She was loved by the fraternity and will be missed from its fraternal and social life.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Presbyterian church by the pastor Rev. S. R. Overholser. Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.
