Services for Marie Lois Smith, 81, Walnut, Iowa, who died Feb. 18, 1986, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Feb. 21 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Zona Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Winterset cemetery.
Born in Crawford County, Iowa on Sept. 11, 1904, she was the daughter of Ezra and Mary Hurley Evison.
On Oct. 1, 1925 she was married to Karl N. Smith in Des Moines. She was a homemaker, a member of the Methodist church and a member of the Des Moines chapter of Women of the Moose Lodge No. 10.
Survivors include sons, Arthur of Cedar Rapids, Raymond of Grand Island, Neb., Carl and Dwight, both of Des Moines; a daughter, Beverly Hildebrand of Walnut; a brother, Bill Evison of Truro; a sister, Merle McMichael of Truro; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother.
