Margaret Reed, Winterset

A funeral service was held Monday, May 10, at Collins Funeral Home for Margaret Reed of Winterset, who died May 6 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 77 years old.

Born in Staunton, Virginia on April 6, 1905, she was the daughter of David and Rebecca Landes Baylor.

On May 6, 1941, she married Ernest Gordon Reed in Lancaster, Missouri. Mr. Reed died in 1980.

A homemaker, she came to Winterset six years ago from Vinton, Ia.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ernest; a sister Helen; and two brothers Bill and Julian.

Survivors include a step-son, Tom Reed of Winterset; two sisters, Mrs. Wayt Cox of Roanoke, Virginia and Mrs. C. H. Driver of Churchville, Virginia; 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Rev. Alan Parker officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton, with a graveside service.
