Maude H. Reed, Norwalk

Services for Maude Hattie Reed, 96, a former Truro resident who died Sept. 2 at the Regency Care Center at Norwalk, were held Friday Sept. 5 at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. James Nicholson of Truro officiating. Burial was at the Young cemetery.

Born Oct. 7, 1889 at Truro, she was the daughter of Isaac and Emma Cobb Holmes. She was married to Charles N. Reed in 1905 at Osceola.

A housewife, she moved from Truro to Des Moines in 1957. She was a member of the Truro United Methodist Church, the Guild and the WSCS at Truro.

Survivors include sons, John Reed and wife Mildred of Stanton, Calif., Charles and wife Delores of Des Moines, and Robert and wife Lois of Fremont, Calif.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.

Truro

Truro learned of the death of Maude Holmes Reed, 97, who lived in the Truro area until 1956. She was very active in the Truro United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. in the Truro Kale Funeral Home Friday, Sept. 5, with burial in the Young Cemetery.
