Rosemary Reeck, N. Mexico

Rosemary Reeck, 75, a short-time resident of Los Lunas, N.M., was called home to Heaven in the early morning hours of Sept. 23, 2003, surrounded in love by her family. She had just moved to Los Lunas from Carson City, Nev. to be with her son and his family.

She was born in Winterset and spent time in Des Moines and Norwalk, Calif. Rosemary was the granddaughter of Claude and Jenny Ewick of Winterset. She married Wayne Reeck on Oct. 2, 1945, in Phoenix, Ariz., and to this union was born five children.

She was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Connie and Candee; a son, Ricky; her parents; grandparents; and her parents-in-law.

Rosemary is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Wayne; a son, Jay and wife Kerry of Los Lunas; a daughter, Cathy Bennett and husband Larry of Hemet Calif.; grandchildren, Krystal of Los Lunas, Autumn of Springfield, Ore., Jonathan Gordon of Albuquerque, N.M., Kelli Buckner of Arlington, Texas, Kevin Bennett and wife Taryn of Corona, Calif., and Christine Bennett of Marino Valley, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Nakye of Springfield, Ore., Kyle and Ashton of Arlington, Texas, Reese and Caden Bennett of Corona, Calif., and Kimby and Westley of Marino Valley, Calif.; her brothers-and sisters-in-law, Fred and Louie Reeck, Norman Reeck and wife Josephine, and Ruth Reeck, all of Des Moines and Jean Signs of Tallahassee, Fla.; and her cousins, Diane Kirtpatrick and husband Jake, Dick Brooks and Bev Nelson, all of Des Moines. She also is survived by her very, very special friends, Don and Pat Cave, Peggy Gunter and Darlene Roullard, all of Carson City, Nev. And I sit here writing this knowing there are many more but no names to put down. Rosemary touched so many lives that I know she had many special friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

"Go rest now, Mom, I will take it from here. Dad will be fine. You accomplished your goals. Go rest now, Mom, let your lungs rest. Go rest now, Mom your job here is done. Go rest now, Mom."

Following Rosemary's wishes, cremation has taken place. Inurnment will follow in her birth state.
