Clarice Myers Ramsey, Earlham

Funeral services for Clarice Myers Ramsey, 86, were held Sat., Dec. 28 at Earlham Friends Church with Pastor Keith Smith officiating. Mrs. Ramsey died December 25 at home of a heart attack.

The daughter of Wesley and Marietta (Powell) Myers, she was born March 16, 1905 in Madison County. After graduating from high school, she taught school until she married Hugh W. Ramsey in August of 1928. They farmed and lived in the Earlham area most of their married life. She retired as assistant dean of women at William Penn College, Oskaloosa. She was a member of the Friends Church of Earlham, Friends Ladies Aid, Friendly Circle, Sunshine Circle, Farm Bureau and Chautauqua Club.

Clarice Myers Ramsey was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Harms of Satellite Beach, Fla.; a son, Glen Ramsey of Bondurant; two sisters, Lela Reigle of Des Moines and Florence Eames of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.
