JAMES E. VANDIVER DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Word was received here Monday of the death, at San Francisco, Calif., on Nov. 5, of James E. Vandiver, at the age of 54 years. Mr. Vandiver was the husband of the former Monica Hays of Winterset. His death resulted from lung cancer.

Mr. Vandiver and family had been living at Palo Alto, Calif., the past four years. A native of Tennessee, he was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Masonic order for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, and four children, Susan aged 15, Michael, aged 4, Brian aged 3, and John aged 18 months. His wife is expecting another child in January, also.

Funeral services were held in Palo Alto, with requiem Mass from St. Aloysius church there, and burial was made in Golden Gate National cemetery at San Bruno.
