Page 1Death Of Charles Cox
Charles A. Cox, farmer living near Winterset, died suddenly Sunday of pneumonia. He was stricken only the preceding day. He was 62 years old.
Mr. Cox was born in Madison county on October 18, 1872. With the exception of two years on a farm in Missouri, he spent his entire life in this community.
On February 27, 1896, he was married to Elnora Etter. They were the parents of four children. The mother died on January 22, 1927. On May 30, 1933 he married Mrs. Nancy Bowers.
Mr. Cox was a member of the United Presbyterian church of Winterset.
The near relatives left by the deceased are three sons, Richard Cox, of Earlham, Oscar and Wallace Cox of Winterset and a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Adkins, of Winterset and the widow. Two brothers and two sisters are also left, Reiley W. Cox of Estelline, South Dakota, Leroy Cox of Winterset, Mrs. Harriet Addy of Earlham and Mrs. Beulah Cox of Des Moines.
The funeral was held from the Ramsey - Richards Funeral home Tuesday. The Rev. F. B. Hamilton of the United Presbyterian church was in charge. Burial was made in the (North) McDonald cemetery.
