1967EDITH PYERS OF WINTERSET DIES
Had Spent Last Eight Years At Omaha, Where Death Occurred
Mrs. Edith M. Pyers, a well-known Winterset resident, practically all her life, died Sunday, June 4 at Omaha, Nebr., where she had spent the last eight years.
Mrs. Pyers was 86 years of age at her death. She was the former Edith McCleary, daughter of C. A. and Lucy Walker McCleary. She was born in Madison County Nov. 23, 1880.
She was married to James H. Pyers, who preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1954. One son, Phil Pyers, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pyers is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Scott of Omaha; a son, Ross M. Pyers of San Diego, Calif.; two grandsons; two brothers, Alfred McCleary of Carlisle and Robert McCleary of San Bernardino, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Scarborough of San Bernardino, Calif, and Mrs. Josephine Martin and Mrs. Adelaide Moore of Winterset.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Everett K. Burham, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
