Vera May Purscell, Winterset

Graveside services for Vera May Purscell, 71, Winterset, who died Sept. 1 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held on Saturday, Sept. 3 at the Primitive Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. John Bush officiating.

Born in Bangor, Wis., she was the daughter of Al and Lettie Heath. She lived in Winterset for 46 years, moving here from Newton. On Apr. 4, 1936, she married Marion Purscell in Winterset. He died July 10, 1975.

Survivors include sons, Raymond of Ft. Worth, Tex., and Craig Fry of Vinton; daughters, Dorothy Wolver of Oskaloosa and Leugean Jahke of Newton; Alfred and Clarence Heath, both of Newton; a sister, Leota Purscell of Winterset and 11 grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a brother and a sister.
