MRS. LUCY PURSCELL OF WINTERSET DIES

Funeral Services Held Last Sunday, With Burial Here

Mrs. Lucy L. Purscell of Winterset, a resident of this community for 57 years, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, at a nursing home here. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. Purscell was a native of Council Bluffs, where she was born Aug. 2, 1888, a daughter of William and Ida Knight. She was married to Charles Purscell in 1907.

She was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. A. C. Wilson of Winterset; a stepson, Marion Purscell of Winterset; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Newton Birt of Superior, Wisc.; and three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Narver of Perry, Mrs. Florence Hayden of Paradise, Calif., and Mrs. Edith Messenger of San Rafael, Calif.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Glynn Ensor of Creston. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Winterset.
