The body of Kenneth Kerr of Mitchell, South Dakota, who was killed there Sunday night by a service station bandit, was brought to Winterset for funeral services and burial.
Kerr, who was 49 years of age, was shot in the back twice by a bandit who then robbed the service station where Kerr was employed. He was mortally wounded, but before he died was able to tell officers the identity of the bandit, whom he recognized.
The killer was Leonard Storn, 34, a former convict from Mitchell, S. Dak. He later committed suicide when trapped by police 70 miles northwest of Mitchell.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday afternoon from the Richards funeral home, conducted by the Rev. C. G. Myers of Van Meter. Burial was to be made in the Chase-McDonald cemetery.
