Douglas Litton died Sunday morning from the effects of injuries received last Thursday afternoon. The deceased had, for a number of years been afflicted with epilepsy and while coming down the stairway in the Bevington block, he suffered an attack which caused him to lose his balance and pitch headlong to the foot of the stairway. He had been dependent on the county for support and was taken to a room in the courthouse where every attention was given him, but he never regained consciousness and died at an early hour Sunday morning.

Funeral services were held from the Church of Christ Monday and burial was made in the North Branch U. B. cemetery.

Douglas Litton, a man of about forty-eight years of age and a ward of the county, died Saturday evening as a result of epilepsy.

He came in from the Poor Farm Thursday to consult with the County physician, and while at the head of the stairs in the First National bank building was suddenly seized with a spell of epilepsy, falling headlong down the stairs. He was taken in an unconscious condition to a room in the court house where he died Saturday night before regaining consciousness. He received no special injury from his fall and his death was the natrual result of epilepsy, to which he has been subject for many years.

The funeral services were held on Monday morning and the remains were interred in the U. B. cemetery in Jefferson township.

Douglas Litton falls Down The Stairs and is Killed.

WAS VICITIM OF EPILEPTIC FITS.

Removed to the Court House and Dies Tow Days Afterward. Had been of Epileptic Fits For Many Years. Death For Unfortunate Man.

Douglas Litton, a man fifty years old, fell down the stairway of the First National Bank block Thursday afternoon in an epileptic fit and died Sunday from the effects of the fall and the convulsion. The injured man was removed to the court house by the physicians. His condition was found to be so serious that he could not be taken away. His funeral occurred Monday morning at his father’s home on west Green street.

Litton had been for many years a victim of epilepsy. He was a man well-educated and possessed a bright mind. Years ago he fell into a fire in a convulsion and was made a cripple for life. One day on the street he fell through a plate glass window and was seriously injured. He was happily married to a Miss Duff and has a family of grown up children, all of whom survive him.

For several years Litton’s condition has been so bad that his family have been unable to take care of him and he has been a county charge, making his home at the county farm. During the past two or three years is constant grieving over his physical condition affected his mind and superintendent Krell controlled him with difficulty at times.
