Robert Young, who lived many years in Jackson township, died Oct. 28 at Redfield, it has been learned here. Mr. Young was 82 years of age. He had lived in Jackson township from 1906 to 1919.
Mr. Young was born near Abingdon, Ill., on May 3, 1874, a son of James and Marian Young. His active life was spent in farming. When he retired from the farm in 1919, he and his wife moved to Dexter, which had been their home since that time. Mrs. Young preceded him in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Weesner of Earlham; two brothers, Will Young of Billings, Mont., and Gordon Young of Beardsley, Minn.; two granddaughters; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 1 from the Evans Funeral home in Dexter.

Services for Robert Young were held Thursday, November 1st at the Evans Funeral Home in Dexter.
Robert Young was born May 3, 1874, near Abingdon, Illinois to James and Marion Young and passed away at the Redfield hospital October 28, 1956 at the age of 82 years.
He came to Iowa in 1906 and was married to Lillie Eppard Tobin in 1908. They made their home on a farm in Jackson township, Madison county until 1919 when they moved to Dexter.
Two brothers, James and John and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Turney and Mrs. Anna Gibbs preceded him in death. His wife also preceded him in May, 1956.
He is survived by two brothers, Will of Billings, Montana and Gordo of Beardsley, Minnesota, and a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Weesner; two granddaughters, Mrs. Beverly Hayes of St. Joseph, Michigan and Mrs. Wanda Glasson of Cherokee, Iowa and five great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephew.
The following relatives were here to attend funeral services for Robert Young: Mr. and Mrs. John Glasson of Cherokee, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peck and Mrs. Orville Dredge of Knoxville, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Johnston of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Boot of Kellogg, Iowa.
