Obituary - Peter Ryner, an old citizen of Union township, died last Saturday, January 15, at the advanced age of 82 years. Mr. Ryner had lived in Union township for 35 years. The funeral was held at 10 o'clock on Sunday at the home, conducted by Rev. Matthews.

Peter Ryner Dead.

Mr. Peter Ryner, an old and highly respected citizen of Union township, died January 14, 1898. Deceased was born in Clinton county, Ohio, April 30, 1815, and moved to Indiana with his parents at the age of 15. He was married to Miss Nancy Evans in 1839, and the union was blessed with five sons and five daughters. The wife, three sons and three daughters survive him. The oldest son died in the army.

The family moved to Madison county in 1864, and have lived on the farm upon which they first located ever since. In early life deceased united with the Protestant Methodist church. The funeral was held Sunday at the residence, conducted by Rev. Storrs, and the remains now rest in the N. B. cemetery.

Note: Burial was made in the North McDonald cemetery.
