Thursday, April 30, 1903Fairview: Mrs. Rufus Baker, who had been an intense sufferer for over two years, died at her home Saturday and was laid to rest Sunday afternoon at the North Branch U. B. cemetery.

Mrs. Rufus Baker died at her home on North Branch Saturday, April 25th, of consumption after an illness of three years, the last year and a half of which she was confined to her bed. The funeral was held at the U.B. church in Jefferson township, conducted by Rev. Curtis, of Van Meter, after which she was laid to rest in the U.B. cemetery. Mrs. Baker was the adopted daughter of Isaac Allen and was 26 years of age. She leaves behind to mourn her loss a husband and one child, who have the heart felt sympathy of the entire community.
