MRS. IRA J. GIBBONS OF LORIMOR PASSES

Mrs. Ira J. Gibbons of Lorimor died at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset last Thursday, Nov. 1, at the age of 82 years.

Mrs. Gibbons was the former Bertha Caroline Barnard, daughter of Solomon and Mary A. Barnard. She was born Jan. 14, 1874. She came with her parents to Madison county when she was 11 months old.

She was married to Ira J. Gibbons on Nov. 18, 1897. They made their home in Madison county until 1945, when they moved to Lorimor. Mr. Gibbons died in 1951. Their only child, a daughter, died in infancy.

She united with the Methodist church at Murray in 1893, later transferring to the Church of Christ in Barney where she was a member the remainder of her life.

Nearest surviving relatives are a brother, George, and a sister, Sadie of Richland, Mo.
