CLARK MINARD, 95, DIES AT ST. CHARLES

One of This County's Oldest Citizens; Came Here in 1871

Madison county lost one of its venerable citizens Friday, Oct. 26, in the death of Clark Minard, of Truro. His death occurred at a St. Charles nursing home at the age of 95 years.

Lawrence Clark Minard was born July 20, 1861, in Coldwater, Mich., a son of Rowland D. and Catherine W. Minard. The family settled in St. Charles, in Madison county, in 1871.

As a young man he operated a harness shop in St. Charles. He was married there, on Feb. 18, 1885, to Rebecca Ann Seams of St. Charles. Later they moved to Davenport, Nebr., where he engaged in the hardware business for 33 years. Upon retiring from business in 1938 they moved back to Madison county and made their home at Truro. His wife died in 1942. He lived at Truro until three years ago.

He had been a member of the Masonic lodge and the Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years.

Nearest surviving relatives are nieces and nephews.
