MRS. FRED ADKINS OF PITZER DIES
Death Came Suddenly at Dexter Hospital at Age of 48 Years
Mrs. Fred Adkins, a well-known resident of the Pitzer community, died last Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 21, at the Dexter hospital, following a brief illness. She was 48 years of age.
Mrs. Adkins was a life-long resident of Madison county. She was the former Wilma Joan Cox, daughter of Charles and Lenora Cox, and born in this county Nov. 28, 1907.
She was married to Fred Adkins on Aug. 8, 1934. They had lived at Pitzer for many years, where she and her husband had operated the general store.
Surviving are her husband; three children, Mrs. Barbara Wright of Woodward, and Janice and Donna Adkins, both of Pitzer; a grandson; and three brothers Lee Cox of Ogden, Utah, Oscar Cox of Macksburg, and Wallace Cox of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert Franklin. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
