MRS. E. P. (Ferris Pierce) HANDLEY OF LORIMOR DIES

Mrs. E. P. (Ferris Pierce) Handley, a resident of Madison and Union counties for three quarters of a century, died at Lorimor, Oct. 9 at the age of 74 years.

Mrs. Handley was the former Emma Givan, daughter of Henry and Anna Jane Givan. She was born in Wayne county Oct. 2, 1872, coming to Madison county at the age of 10 years.

She was married May 10, 1891, to Ferris P. Handley. They were parents of five children. The husband and father died in 1931, and since that time she had made her home in Lorimor.

She was a life-long member of Beulah Evangelical church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Shigley and Mrs. Lulu Nelson, both of Lorimor; three sons, Harvey Handley of Lorimor, Guy Handley of Winterset and Earl Handley of New Virginia; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Lorimor Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. J. E. England and the Rev. E. J. Parrott. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.

Emma Handley, 84, Dies at Lorimor

LORIMOR — Mrs. Emma Handley, 84, a longtime resident of the Lorimor vicinity, died at her home in Lorimor at 6 p. m. Tuesday. She had been ill for about a week.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Lorimor at 2 p. m. Saturday. Rev. E. K. Parrott will officiate. Burial will be in the Lorimor cemetery. Her body will be at the Watts funeral home in Lorimor until time for the services.

Mrs. Handley’s husband, a farmer in this vicinity, died several years ago.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Shigley and Mrs. Lula Nelson, both of Lorimor, and three sons, Guy and Harry of Lorimor and Earl of New Virginia.

Services are Friday For Emma Handley

LORIMOR — Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Handley, 84, of Lorimor, who died Tuesday at her home here, will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Methodist church in Lorimor with burial in the Lorimor cemetery. It had been announced Wednesday that the services would be held Saturday but this was in error.
