Pryor Funeral At Earlham

Clarence Eldon Pryor, son of Dayton and Edna Pryor, was born January 29, 1894 near Stuart, Iowa. He died June 1, 1977 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset, at the age of 83 years.

He was united in marriage to Lora W. Couch, February 10, 1915. To this marriage there were born three children: Ivan C. Pryor, R.R. 2, Earlham, and Mildred, wife of Marion DeVault of R.R. 1 Earlham. Their third child, Roland Eugene Pryor, preceded his father in death while serving his country on Guam during World War II.

Clarence's vocation was farming.

He is survived by his wife Lora, one son, Ivan, his daughter, Mildred, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Obituary

Clarence Eldon Pryor, son of Dayton and Edna Pryor, was born January 29, 1894 near Stuart, Iowa. He passed away June 1, 1977 at the Madison Memorial hospital in Winterset, at the age of 83 years.

He was united in marriage to Lora W. Couch, February 10, 1915. To this marriage there were born three children: Ivan C. Pryor, Earlham, and Mildred, wife of Marion DeVault of Earlham. Their third child, Roland Eugene Pryor, preceded his father in death while serving his country on Guam during World War II.

Clarence enjoyed his vocation of farming and always enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, loved fishing and even in late years, you could set your watch when he walked uptown each day to get the mail.

He is survived by his wife Lora, one son Ivan, his only daughter Mildred, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He will be missed by a host of friends and neighbors in and around Earlham.

He was a member of the Earlham Friends church and was regular in attendance before his last illness which brought him in his last days to the Madison Manor North nursing home in Winterset. His wife Lora remains in that home.
