Wednesday, October 10, 1956MRS. TOM BROWN DIES AT AGE OF 76 YEARS
Mrs. Tom Brown of Peru died last Thursday, Oct. 4 at the age of 76 years.
Mrs. Brown was a native of Missouri, where she was born on a farm near Queen City, April 2, 1880. She was the former Nellie Klein, daughter of Peter and Ann Eliza Klein. On June 2, 1901, she was married to Charles F. Smith. They were parents of three sons. They lived in the Queen City area until 1932, when they moved to Osceola, Iowa. Mr. Smith died in 1939.
She was married to Mr. Brown on Aug. 17, 1941, and he survives her.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Lutheran church.
In addition to her husband, she leaves the three sons, Charles E. Smith of Truro, Paul R. Smith of Atlantic, and Hugh H. Smith of Osceola; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Klein of Wichita, Kan.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Peru Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. J. A. Cunningham. Burial was made in the Ebeneezer cemetery.
