S. D. Stanfield died at his home in Alberta, Canada, at the age of sixty-two years and five days. He lived for many years around the Winterset area and was respected by all who knew him. He leaves besides his wife, four children: C. A.; J. V. and Jennie M. Bates, of Canada and W. M., of Creston, Iowa.

There died in Stettler hospital last Thursday, February 18th, S. D. Stanfield, of Garden Plains.

The cause of his death was apoplexy. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at three o'clock, to the Stettler Cemetery, the services being held in the Methodist church.

Mr. Stanfield, who was 62 years of age, was formerly a resident of Stettler district, and was well known and highly esteemed here.

He leaves a widow and four children, three sons and a daughter. The sons are C. A., J. V. of this district and William in the States. The daughter is Mrs. W. Bates, of Erskine. Two brothers also live in Big Valley, J. V. and E. Stanfield.

The sympathy of the community is extended to Mrs. Stanfield and family in their bereavement.
