DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Dr. Edward F. Powell, a prominent Winterset resident for many years, died at LaMesa, Calif. on Wednesday, March 11. He was 79 years of age.

Doctor Powell was a practicing dentist in Winterset for more than 30 years. He retired in 1943 and moved to California, making his home at LaMesa.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Foster W. Powell of LaMesa; three daughters, Mrs. Willie Maude Vinsell of Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Elizabeth Marshall of Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs. Winifred Crosby of Los Angeles, Calif. He also leaves eight grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Funeral services and burial were held March 14 at LaMesa.
