EARL D. POWELL BURIED AT WINTERSET

The body of Earl D. Powell, a former Winterset resident whose death occurred Saturday in Des Moines was brought to Winterset Tuesday for burial in the cemetery here.

Mr. Powell died at a Des Moines hospital Saturday, July 23 of a heart attack. He was 52 years of age.

He was born in Madison county and lived much of his life here. He had been a resident of Des Moines the last seven years, where he was employed as a mechanic for the O'Dea Chevrolet company. He was a member of Baldwin-Patterson post of the American Legion.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Daisy Powell; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Rock and Dorothy Powell of Des Moines; a son, Donald Powell of Des Moines; his father, Albert Powell of Winterset; two brothers, Maurice Powell of Winterset and Mark Powell of Dunlap; and six sisters, Mrs. Helen Way of Norwalk, Mrs. Merle Downs of St.Charles, Mrs. Jessie Epperson of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. Albert Patrice of Des Moines, Mrs. Edna Smith of Jefferson City, Mo., and Mrs. Christina Simmerman of Peru. He also leaves a granddaughter.
