Gladus Lucille Oldham Potter, 80, of Claremont, California, died of cancer September 15. Mrs. Potter was born in Madison township on November 26, 1906 to Leslie A. and Mabel E. Oldham. She attended school at Madison #8 and graduated from Winterset High School, Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Los Angeles State University.

Mrs. Potter had lived in Minnesota and Montana before moving to California forty-five years ago. In California she assisted in starting a pilot program aimed at helping visually handicapped students stay in their regular classrooms.

Mrs. Potter was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, O. R. Potter. She is survived by her brother, John Oldham and a niece Susan Hollen of Winterset; nephews Craig Oldham of Johnston and David Oldham of Des Moines; and a step-son, Duel Potter of Owatonna, Minnesota.
