Ernest Potter Dies In Mason City

Ernest C. Potter, a former Madison county resident, died at a Mason City Hospital October 3rd at the age of 81.

He had spent his early years in Patterson. He and his wife, the former Celia Lull, lived in West Des Moines 48 years, recently moving to the I.O.O.F. home at Mason City.

He is survived by his wife, a son Clair Potter and grandson Tom Potter, both of Tucson, Arizona, and one sister, Mrs. Mina Norman of West Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Hattie Gowin Potter, two brothers, Roy and John Potter and three sisters, Mrs. Letitia Don Carlos, Mrs. Flora Quick and Mrs. Marie Boelter.

Funeral services were held from the McLaren's Funeral Home in West Des Moines last Friday with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.

Among te relatives from this community attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Roland Welch, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Estell, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Speer, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Wildin, Wayne Speer, Everett Quick, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Fogler, Erwin Howell, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fogler, Mr. and Mrs. William Fogler and Mrs. Dale Potter. Mrs. Earl Auspurger of Iowa City was also in Des Moines to attend the services.
