John Post, Lorimor

Services for John Post, 67, Lorimor, who died January 20 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines, were held on Wed. Jan. 24 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Branson of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery and graveside military rites were held by the American Legion Post 184.

Born in Peru on Sept. 15, 1922, he was the son of William and Margarite Davis Post. He was a farmer and had retired in 1973. He was married to Evelyn Holbert Kephart. The couple divorced and he was later married to Cleo Cooper.

Mr. Port was a World War II Navy veteran and a lifetime resident of Madison County.

Survivors include his wife, Cleo Post of Lorimor; sons, George, Larry and Calvin, all of Winterset; daughters, Rose Michael of Lorimor, Linda Warner of Marshalltown, Diane Post of Winterset; a stepdaughter, Gloria Post of Lorimor; brothers, Franklin and Junior, both of Cumberland, and Terry of California; sisters, Mary McNeely of Peru and Della Wyman of Winterset; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
