Janice Ruckman, 68, of Winterset died Dec. 7, 2006.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Winterset.

Janice Ruckman was born May 3, 1938, to Oland and Bernice Kneedler. She lived in the Adel area until 1966 when she and her family moved to California. Janice worked in retail before returning to Adel in 1974. She then began working as a housekeeper for many businesses in Adel. Janice moved to Madison County in October of 1986 and for the past 20 years resided at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, also in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, and a grandchild.

She is survived by a twin sister, Joanne Graham of Adel, and another sister, Charlotte Huffman of DeSoto; three sons, Stuart Ruckman of French Camp, Calif., Mike Ruckman of Des Moines and Mark Ruckman of Bakersfield, Calif.; one daughter, Rexanne Chapman of Perry; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
