Page 1Phyllis Patterson Dies
Phyllis Patterson, fourteen year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Bradbury Patterson of Scott township, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Wednesday morning, June 19th at 11 o'clock. The girl became seriously ill with an ear infection about ten days ago, and acute appendicitis developed. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital last Thursday, but the doctors could not operate because of the complications.
Funeral arrangements had not been made when the Madisonian we to press yesterday afternoon. The girl is survived by her parents, her twin sister Virginia, and two other sisters, Mary and Martha and a brother Billie.

Phyllis Patterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Patterson was born June 15, 1921 near Winterset, and died in the Methodist hospital of Des Moines, June 19, 1935.
The above notice announces the departure from this life of one of the brightest, happiest and best of Madison county’s young people. On April 16, 1933 she was baptized and joined the Church of Christ. She had just completed her rural school work and was looking forward to entering high school next fall.
Besides her father and mother she leaves her twin sister, Virginia, one brother Billy and two younger sisters Mary Lenore, and Martha, her grandfather, Wm. Patterson, her grandmother, Sylvia Smith, also her great grandmother, Martha McDonald and a host of friends as was evidenced by the most beautiful floral offerings.
Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ at 2:30 Friday, by her pastor, H. L. Olmstead. The remains were laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
