Services for Opal Marie Porter, 84, Winterset, who died May 24 at the Bethesda Care Center here where she resided were Friday, May 27 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.

Born in Lorimor on Sept. 30, 1903, she was the daughter of William and Laura Burgess Davis. She was a homemaker, a member of the Scott township circle and a resident of the Peru area for 50 years. She was married to Lyle Ellsworth Porter on Feb. 9, 1925.

Survivors include a son, Gerald of Peru; a daughter, Phyllis Kay Stevens of West Des Moines; brothers, Charles Davis of Winterset and John Davis of Red Oak; a sister, Elsie Martin of Creston; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother and two sisters.
