SERVICES MONDAY FOR FRED RIGGLE
Fred H. Riggle, former Truro school superintendent and business man, died of a heart attack Saturday, Sept. 22, at his home in Des Moines. He was 79 years of age.
Mr. Riggle was a native of Humeston, where he was born Oct. 22, 1876. In 1897 he was married to Edna G. Tedrick, who preceded him in death in 1924. On May 3, 1932, he was married to Bessie Roby, who survives him.
He was superintendent of schools in Derby, Decatur and Truro for 20 years, and for 30 years engaged in the hardware and implement business in Truro, prior to his retirement in 1948. He had been living in Des Moines the last two months.
He was a member of the Masonic lodge and Eastern Star in Truro, and of the Truro Methodist church, in which he served as Sunday school superintendent for many years.
In addition to his wife; he leaves a son, Wendell Riggle of Lorimor; a daughter, Mrs. Walter Stephens of Des Moines; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Truro Methodist church, with burial at Derby.
