November 1960GEORGE POFFINBARGER DIES AT 84 YEARS
George W. Poffinbarger, a resident of Madison county practically all his life, died Monday, Nov. 21 at Mt. Ayr, where he had been living recently. He was 84 years of age.
Mr. Poffinbarger was born in Jefferson township of this county on Jan. 9, 1876, a son a A. S. and Sarah E. McKenzie Poffinbarger.
His active life was spent in farming. He never married and his nearest surviving relatives are two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services were held this Wednesday morning, from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian Church. Burial was made in the North McDonald cemetery.
