SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. ANDREW ROGERS

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset for Mrs. Andrew M. Rogers, whose death had occurred Tuesday, Sept. 11, at a Winterset Nursing home. She was 86 years of age at her death.

Mrs. Rogers was a life-long resident of Madison county. She was the former Mary Elizabeth Bailey, daughter of Moses and Mary Chandler Bailey, and was born in Douglas township June 19, 1870.

She was married to Vinson A. Eyerly on Aug. 4, 1898. They were parents of three children, Mary Alice, Herschel and Myrtle.

Following the death of her husband in 1905, she moved to Winterset.

On Aug. 10, 1916, she was married to Andrew M. Rogers. A few years later they moved to a farm in the Pleasant View community of Webster township. Later they lived on various farms in Webster and Grand River townships.

Throughout her life Mrs. Rogers was a strong church member, attending the Winterset Christian church as a girl, and later attending the West Star Methodist church, followed by the Winterset Methodist, the Oak Grove Evangelical and the Macksburg Methodist churches.

Until two weeks before her death, she had been living with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Busch.

In addition to her husband and daughter, Mrs. Busch, she leaves three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Clara B. Eyerly.

The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. A. Samp, former pastor, and the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, present pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Chase-McDonald cemetery.
