Funeral Services Held From Oak Grove Church for Lloyd W. Bartlett
Lloyd W. Bartlett, aged 22, of Webster township, took his own life Sunday morning by shooting himself. He had parked his car in a barn lot in Webster township. His body was found near the car.
The young man left a farewell note, addressed to his father, in which he bid goodbye to relatives and friends.
Sheriff Rex Rouse and Coroner Paul Eggleston were called to the scene. Eggleston announced no inquest would be necessary.
The young man was a son of Harley Bartlett of Webster township and he had spent his life as a resident of that community. He was born there Aug. 13, 1934, a son of Harlan and Veleta Miller Bartlett. He attended the rural schools of Webster township, and the Winterset high school. Since school, he had been at home, farming.
His mother preceded him in death in July 1950.
Surviving are his father and a sister, Mrs. Eva Allen of Patterson.
Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Oak Grove church in Webster township, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Charles Bellus. Burial was in Pleasant View cemetery near there.
