June Pickering, Winterset

June Imogene Pickering, 82, of Winterset, died Aug. 21, 2004 at Winterset Care Center North.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial was at Wight Cemetery in rural Macksburg.

June Pickering was born March 1, 1922, in Madison County to Russell Guy and Phoebe Esther (Sweet) Little. A lifetime resident of Madison County, June had been a waitress at many establishments around Winterset and Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Pickering; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Ingram; and two brothers, Grover Guy Little and Russell Junior Little.

She is survived by one son, Duane "Turk" Cooper of Albia, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
