Services Held Saturday at Winterset, Conducted by Rev. John C. Porath
Mrs. Elizabeth Piatt, a resident of Madison county for all of her 90 years, died Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Memorial hospital in Winterset.
Mrs. Piatt was the former Elizabeth Speer, daughter of Andrew and Nancy Evans Speer. She was born in this county on March 25, 1869. She was married at Winterset on Oct. 22, 1902 to John Piatt. His death occurred in 1939.
She was a member of the Early Chapel church.
In addition to her husband, one son and two daughters preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Andy Piatt of Winterset and Jess Piatt of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Florence Bovey of Los Angeles, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Bricker of Earlham, Mrs. Blanche Mark and Mrs. Della Bloomquist of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
