Harry V. Fastle, long time resident of the Earlham community, died suddenly at his home in Earlham Monday, August 6th.
Mr. Fastle was born in Calhoun county on Feb. 14, 1882, and had lived in Madison county for over 50 years. He farmed in Penn township until moving to Earlham.
He was married to the former Cora Hunter of Earlham in December 1906. They were the parents of one son, Donald, who preceded his father in death.
He is survived by his wife, and one grandson, Wayne Fastle.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Earlham, Aug. 8, with the Rev. Anthony Blanker, officiating. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.

Harry V. Fastle was born February 14, 1882 in Calhoun county, Iowa. He passed away August 6, 1956 at Earlham. He was married to Cora M. Hunter on December 5, 1906. To this union was born one son, Donald who died February 23, 1942. Harry joined the Methodist church in 1907.
He is survived by his wife and one grandson, Wayne Fastle of Earlham, one brother, Robert of Louisburg, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Thursday, August 9, 1956Services Wednesday for Harry Fastle
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Earlham Methodist church for Harry Fastle who died at his home Monday about noon.
Services were in charge of Anthony Blankers, pastor of the church. Music was furnished by Mrs. Von Fletcher and Mrs. Chas. Soderberg, accompanied by Mrs. Phillip Duff on the organ.
Clyde Brittain, Russell Hoskins, Russell Applegate, Robert Branam, Lyman Oaks and Ivan Russell served as casket bearers. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
Mr. Fastle was born February 14, 1882 in Calhoun county, Iowa. He was married to Cora Hunter December 5, 1906. They were the parents of one son, Donald. He was killed in an automobile accident February 23, 1942.
Mr. Fastle had been a member of the Earlham Methodist church since 1907. He farmed for many years in Penn township, moving to town about twelve years ago.
