BERNIECE CORKEY DIES IN MICHIGAN
Word has been received here of the death Thursday, August 9th, of Miss Berniece Corkey, former Winterset resident. She was a daughter of the late Rev. James S. Corkey, who served as minister of the First Presbyterian church here from 1907 to 1920.
Miss Corkey was a graduate of the Winterset high school with the class of 1917, and later attended Grinnell college and Iowa state college at Ames. She taught school for several years, following her graduation from college, and then went into dietetics. Her last assignment was at Camp Hood, in Texas, but she resigned this summer, because of poor health and has since been with her mother in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Funeral and burial services were held in Kalamazoo. She is survived by her mother, and one brother, Jim Corkey of Logansport, Indiana, and a sister, Mrs. Elliott (Ruth) Bliss of Chappaqua, a suburb of White Plains, New York.
