Cecil F. "Dutch" Phillips, Winterset

Services for Cecil F. "Dutch" Phillips, 82, Winterset, who died April 15, were held Friday, April 18, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Van Patten officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born at Macksburg on Nov. 23, 1903, he was the son of Thomas and Nora Smith Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of Madison County. He was a member of the Peru Methodist Church for 36 years and a past member of the Masons.

On June 3, 1925, he was married to Dorothy Bennington at Winterset. She survives along with daughters, Faye Simmons of Mystic and Dolores Lamb of Greeley, Colo.; brothers, Leslie of Adel and Wallace of Milton, Fla.; sisters, Mabel Mitchell of Greenfield and Ruby Carter of Pleasantville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
