E. L. HENDRICKSON DIES AT WINTERSET

Funeral Services to Be Held This Wednesday From Richards

Edward L. Hendrickson, a retired farmer, died here Sunday at the home of his son, E. A. Hendrickson of Winterset. He was 69 years of age.

Mr. Hendrickson was born May 7, 1887, in Decatur county, a son of Elias A. and Mary Ellen Ross Hendrickson. He was married at Leon on Oct. 16, 1912, to Theo Holmes.

Surviving are three sons, Doyle E. Hendrickson and Gerald G. Hendrickson, both of Weldon, and E. A. Hendrickson of Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Ila Jackson of Lorimor; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Orval Hendrickson of St. Charles; and two sisters, Mrs. Ella McConnel and Mrs. Lydia Main both of Osceola.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.

Edward Leonard Hendrickson was born in Decatur county, Iowa, on May 7, 1887 and passed away at the home of his son, Elias in Winterset, June 24 at the age of 69 years. He was the son of Elias Anthony Hendrickson and Mary Ellen Ross.

October 16, 1912 he was married to Theo. Holmes and they became the parents of four children: Doyle E. and Gerald G. Hendrickson of Weldon, Iowa; Ila T. Jackson of Lorimor, and Elias A. Hendrickson of Winterset.

Almost all of Mr. Hendrickson’s life was spent in farming in and around Madison county. Recently, when his health failed, he and Mrs. Hendrickson moved to Winterset.

Surviving are his wife and children; one brother, Orval of St. James, Iowa; two sisters, Ella McConnell of Woodburn, Iowa; and Lydia Main of Osceola, Iowa; also ten grandchildren. One brother, Charles, preceded him in death.

Mr. Hendrickson was a member of Mt. Zion Christian church in Decatur county. He was a king, loving father—ever eager to help anyone in need. Since his wife’s illness, he has devoted all of his time in the interest of her comfort and welfare. His grandchildren were a special joy to him and his genial neighborly spirit has endeared him to the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 27 at the funeral home in Winterset at 2 p.m. with Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, officiating.
