O. N. ARCHER DIED HERE LAST FRIDAY

Former Truro Resident Had Lived in Winterset Since 1938

Oliver N. Archer, a life-long resident of Madison county, and a retired farmer who had made his home in Winterset since 1938 died Friday, June 8, at Madison county Memorial hospital. He was 82 years of age, and had been in failing health for several months.

Mr. Archer was born November 29, 1873, in Madison township, a son of Oliver M. and Sarah Hinkle Archer. He was married in 1899 to Mary M. Scott, who survives him. They were parents of one daughter, who died in infancy.

During their active years, Mr. and Mrs. Archer lived near Truro. They moved into Winterset in 1938.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge.

Funeral services with Masonic honors were held Monday from the Truro Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Clarence Moore. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery.
