Frank Theodore Peterson, son of Hans and Rena Peterson was born February 21, 1903 at Earlham and died December 12, 1980 at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, at the age of 77 years.
Frank grew to manhood in the Earlham area where he attended the Earlham school. He helped farm while attending school. On July 9, 1924, Frank was married to Darlene Merical at Redfield, Iowa.
They were the parents of two daughters, Betty Jean and Frances Shirley. The family made their home on a farm south of Earlham where they lived until 1928. At this time they moved to another farm in Dallas County where they lived for three years.
In 1942, they moved to a farm near Rippey, Iowa where they farmed until Frank retired in 1979. At this time, they moved to a home in Woodward where they lived at the time of Frank's death.
Frank was baptized in the Presbyterian Church. He was a former member of Modern Woodman of the World.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles and one sister, Gertrude Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Woodward; two daughters, Betty and Mrs. Fred Fernandez of Denton, Texas and Frances (Mrs. Henry) Page of Weslaco, Texas; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Walter Peterson of Portland Oregon and one sister, Mrs. Stella Burch of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Rippey. Burial was in the Rippey cemetery.
