CARL O. PETERSON OF ANKENY DIES

Carl O. Peterson of Ankeny died last Friday, February 26, at Memorial hospital in Winterset, at the age of 87 years. He was the father of Mrs. Virgil Smith of Winterset.

Mr. Peterson was born at Rankin, Ill., on Aug. 21, 1877, a son of Frank and Mary Lindquist Peterson. He was married at Sibley, Ill., on Aug. 31, 1904 to Dora Olson.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran church of Des Moines, a charter member of the Masonic lodge and Order of Eastern Star at Ankeny, and of Des Moines consistory and Za-Ga-Zig shrine. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Smith of Winterset and Laura and Edna Peterson of Ankeny.

Funeral services will be held this Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the First Methodist church of Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Alfred J. Beil of Des Moines and the Rev. John C. Porath of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
