Services for Edna P. Petersen, 71, St. Charles, who died June 5 at Des Moines General Hospital were held at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro June 9 with the Rev. Jim Nicholson of Truro officiating. Burial was at the Blair Chapel Cemetery.
Born Dec. 7, 1915 in Indianola, she was the daughter of Bert and Evelyn Johnson Young. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1933 and was married Sept. 11, 1939 to Andrew Petersen at St. Charles.
A housewife, Mrs. Petersen was a lifetime resident of Warren and Madison counties and she and her husband lived on a farm near Truro from 1948 to 1983. They then retired and moved to St. Charles.
She was a member of Model Chapter No. 174 O.E.S., St Charles and a member of the Past Matrons at Truro.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew of the Winterset Care Center; a daughter, Jean Williams and husband Charles of Des Moines; a son, David Petersen and wife Sandra of Altoona; four grandchildren; and a brother, Norman Young of Winterset.
