A. C. Petersen Dies at Farm Home Near Paton
Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at Ogden for Adolpf Carsten Petersen, a former resident of Madison county.

Saturday afternoon, August 4, funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran church in Ogden for Adolph Carsten Petersen. The Rev. Fr. Kreutz, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was made at the Winterset cemetery.
Casket bearers were Carl Petersen, Jens Rugard, George Lass, Coonie Roelfsema, Charles Burchfield and Raymond Hansen.
Members of the junior choir of the church, accompanied by Hugo Boem, sang “Heaven Is My Home” and “Abide With Me.”
Adolph Carsten Petersen, son of Andrew and Anna E. Petersen, was born in Des Moines, Iowa, January 2, 1889. While in infancy he received the blessed rite of holy baptism. At the age of 17 years he officially joined St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Des Moines.
When Adolph was about 10 years of age the family left the capitol city and moved to a farm near Winterset. Later in the year of 1933, he, together with his brother, William, moved to a farm near Paton, where he had since made his home and where he suddenly passed away on Wednesday, August 1 at the age of 62 years and 7 months.
He leaves to mourn his three brothers, Rudolph H. Petersen of Lohrville, Theodore A. Petersen of Omaha, Nebr., and William W. Petersen of Paton. He also leaves behind three sister-in-laws; two nephews and four nieces.
His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Mr. Petersen lived on a farm near Winterset for about 26 years from 1909 to 1935. Since 1935 he had been living on a farm near Paton.
The son of Andrew and Anna E. Petersen, he was born in Des Moines on Jan. 2, 1889. At the age of 17 he officially joined St. Paul's Lutheran church in Des Moines.
He died suddenly last Wednesday at his farm home near Paton. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and one sister.
Surviving are three brothers, Rudolph H. Petersen of Lohrville, Theodore A. Petersen of Omaha, Nebr., and William W. Petersen of Paton; three sisters-in-law, two nephews and four nieces.
Officiating at the services last Saturday was the Rev. Fr. Kreutz, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church at Ogden. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
