ALBERT PAYTON DIES AT BEVERLY HILLS

Albert Payton, a native of Winterset, died Saturday, April 25, at his home in Beverly Hills, Calif. He had been in poor health for some time and his death followed recent heart attacks.

Mr. Payton was a son of John Payton, a former hardware merchant in Winterset. He was born and spent his early years in this community. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Graham Payton.

Burial was to be made this Wednesday in Forest Lawn cemetery at Glendale, Calif.

Rites Set for Albert Payton, Insurance Man

Funeral services for Albert E. Payton, 72, retired insurance general agent, who died Saturday at his home, 462 S. Beverwil Drive, Beverly Hills, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of the Recessional, Forest Lawn Memorial-Park. Forest Lawn Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mr. Payton, a native of Winterset, Ia., came to California in 1922 as general agent for the New England Mutual Life Insurance Co. On his retirement in December, 1950, he was the oldest general agent in the Life Insurance Managers Association of which he was a past president.

Club Activities

Before his retirement he was an active member of the Kiwanis, Jonathan, University and Breakfast Clubs and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.

He leaves his widow Mabel, a daughter, Mrs. Louise P. McInnes; a son, Harold E. Payton; a granddaughter, Mrs. Barbara C. Campbell, and a sister, Mrs. Cora B. Ford of South Dakota.
