MitchellvilleDonald D. Cochran, 86, died Saturday, May 17, 2003. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 23 at Mitchellville United Methodist Church with burial in the Mitchellville Cemetery.
Donald was born February 27, 1917 in Independence. He was employed as an Office Administrator at Rath Packing Company, retiring in 1961. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and was a member of the American Legion, Mitchellville Jaycees and Merchants Street Social Club. He enjoyed wood working bowling and playing golf and pool.
He is survived by wife, Roberta of Mitchellville; sons, Jerry of Gig Harbor, WA. Gary of Winterset, Larry of San Jose, CA and Michael James of Vacaville, CA; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Mitchellville Funeral Home with family present memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or Mitchellville United Methodist Church.
